Elysium LARP

FAQ

What does 'TNE' stand for?

Either "The Next Evolution" or "The Next Encounter".

What makes Elysium different?

Aside from the surfactual differences like the name, the setting and the rules, everything in Elysium, from number of refs, to level of access on the Db, to how the club runs, to what rules it plays by, is done by democratic vote. There is no one leader, no one person it all comes back to. Any group of people can run Elysium, regardless of whether the ones who set it up in the first place are present.

How do I get involved, and is there any pressure on me to stay if I try out?

We're happy for people to try out and come and go as they please. We ask that people turn up to a game before they are issued a login, to make sure we don't end up with a falsely large member list because people have turned up to try it once and gone away again. If people would like to play, they will need to email a ref beforehand so they can let the GM know that they'll have you on their game - they may ask you for some basic character details - but if you want to monster to just see what it's like, feel free to just turn up.

Registering and listing characters

You can view a list of past games without logging in. All other functions, such as to list your monster points and characters, requires to log in.

Getting a Login

To get a login, please email the webmaster with:
  • Your real name (first name, surname, nickname)
  • Your preferred email address
We will use the one from where the email came, unless told otherwise.
We will then email you with a random password, which you can change once you log in.

Listing a character

To have your new or old character listed, please email us:
  • The exact name (including any titles, and guild titles)
  • Which guild your character belongs to, if any.
  • The race, DT and exact class (and alignment, if applicable).
  • The exact Rank (usually 2.0 but may differ due to MP spent).
You do not have to give us an exact breakdown of any skills you have, you can fill that in yourself.

TL Characters

To have your TL characters listed and updated please follow the following procedure:
  1. If you character is Rank 30.0 or below they keep their Rank.
  2. Otherwise, substract 300 points from their current character points.
  3. Divide the remaining character points by 2, rounding up.
  4. Add 300 points again.
  5. This number (divided by 10) is their new Rank.
Then, please follow the standard procedures for listing a character as shown above. You may restat your character as you see fit, and you may even arbitrarily lower a characters Rank (but not increase).
