2008 Campaign: The Flame

Notes on Spells and Miracles

At the start of the campaign you or your character does not have access to or even knowledge of the following:
  • The entire Black Flame spell list and everything surrounding it.
  • The freedom miracle Uncanny Dodge.
  • The monster race of Grolts.
  • The general magic spell Reflection.

Setting

  • 3 days north from Ladros
  • direct route to capital from there (7 days)
  • shortcut through wilderness to capital in 5 days, but it is risky and requires a roll on the random journey table of doooom

Military Brief about the Unit that has been given to the NPCs

Unit 13 has been created primarily for exploration, but also for protection, of the archaeological dig site D#0012, a dig which is recent, but is expected to return some major historical, and possibly magical and miraculous knowledge.
Due to the exploratory nature of the unit's objective, an eclectic mix of personnel and skills are required, thus the percentage of military members will be comparatively low.
Recommend thorough training sessions due to presence of non-military. Close observation also recommended at first in case of insubordination due to chaotic alignments possibly present. Regular reports on group's progress a necessity.
Any and all incidents of possible theft or fraud to be treated as level 1 priority, due to sensitive nature of location.
Applicants should be screened for
  • Criminal records involving theft or fraud.
  • Claustrophobia or other fear of underground or enclosed spaces.
The above attributes would render a candidate unsuitable.
